The United States Postal Service (U.S.P.S.) is proud to announce the launch of a new series of stamps celebrating "The Art of Skateboarding." The event will take place this spring and is set to be a memorable celebration that skateboarding is not a crime.
Skateboarding has come a long way since its early 60s and has now become a mainstream Olympic sport, with millions of people worldwide enjoying it. The new series of stamps will serve as a testament to the artistry, athleticism, and cultural significance of skateboarding.
According to Rolling Stone, each stamp will feature a deck with a unique design by a different artist.
Artists such as Crystal Worl, William James Taylor, Jr., Federico "MasPaz" Frum, Di'Orr Greenwood, and Antonio Alcalá all provided an incredible masterpiece for the love of skateboarding.
"Fiercely independent and often rebellious, the skateboarding subculture crackles with raw creative energy," the Postal Service said in a statement. "The bold artwork emblazoned on a skateboard deck is often as eye-catching and individualistic as a skater's most breathtaking moves."
They added. "These four stamps celebrate the Art of the Skateboard with vibrant designs that capture skateboarding's excitement and reflect the diversity and influences of the four artists whose work is featured."
