The Skater Of The Year accolade remains one of the most respected awards in global skateboarding culture and will never be replicated as the generic award since it began in 1990.
The Hardies' general has all the hunger like a skate rat even after turning pro, making money, and joining top-notched skate companies while building his empire as an entrepreneur at only 23.
Running multiple businesses such as the "Taste So Good" Caribbean restaurant, Hardies hardware, Brick Underneath underwear, and new board brand King, Jones ceaselessly showcased his multitasking skills while still skateboarding the streets.
Jones' skating has too many NBDs this year, especially the backside flip gap in a subway train that Thrasher recently posted. Core skaters may wonder why Thrasher only showed it as an announcement when it should've been posted before he was named Skater Of The Year.
Hence, there's no denying that Jones is a talented pro skater who dreams of conquering the skateboarding scene and wouldn't just stop after winning the first SOTY.
Congratulations to Jones for receiving another Skater Of The Year this 2022. Well deserved!
