Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, and record producer Ty Dolla $ign has released a video on how he got knocked out cold during his skateboarding session with professional skateboarder Dashawn Jordan.

As we previously reported, the rapper fell off a skateboard, was severely hurt, and hospitalized. His fellow rapper Wiz Khalifa also cared for him and advised him to wear a helmet the next time he skated again.

According to national statistics, approximately 61,000 children between 5 and 14 years old suffer yearly injuries caused by skateboarding accidents.

In 2013, nearly 85,000 people under age 19 sustained a skateboarding-related injury, according to Safe Kids. The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons reports that 52 percent of skateboard injuries involve children under age 15, with most male accident victims.

Skateboarding is not a joke and should be taken seriously. The good news is that the rapper is safe and will skate again with his safety gear.
