Two Cents Skateboards business owner Chris Leonard launched his brand on September 7, 2014, in Portland, Oregon, with a post, "Art by Brian Briskey. Two Cents stickers of this drawing coming soon."

With all the creative art and hard work, the Two Cents Skateboards brand never had a team and proper backing from the core industry.

Two Cents also filed their trademark on January 23, 2015, with the status "700 - Registered."

However, after July 21, 2019, Leonard stopped promoting his company and focused on becoming a dog dad, golfing, and living life to the fullest.

Consequently, professional skateboarder Ryan Decenzon launched his new company, "2 Cents Skateboards."

Everyone cheered and congratulated Decenzo as he is now ready to become a new business owner after parting ways with Darkstar Skateboards in 2023, except Leonard, who allegedly disputed that Decenzo stole his company's name, as he also has the smoking monkey graphics, which he claimed they have two.

Some accused Decenzo of ripping off a small business despite explaining that he had never heard of the brand and said, "The brand name came to me from being part of Dime crew MTL for many years."

Tyler Wheeler commented and said, "Two Cents skateboards did it first. Commenting to keep it known but you'll delete it anyways."
