Rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer Travis Scott has stepped up to the plate to rescue Virgil Abloh's cherished Ghana Skatepark from the brink of closure.

The unexpected move comes after an impassioned Instagram post by Oluwole Olosunde, a 23-year-old registered nurse and designer hailing from Brooklyn, who shed light on the unfortunate fate of the skatepark.

Olosunde took to Instagram to express his dismay over the closure of the skatepark, named "FREEDOM," in Accra, Ghana.

The park, one of Abloh's final projects before his passing, symbolizes artistic freedom and community engagement.

Olosunde detailed a disheartening scene where an unknown owner had erected a cement wall, effectively blocking access to the park and pouring sand to deter skaters.

The closure has persisted for nearly a year, leaving local youth without a space to pursue their passion for skateboarding.

Undeterred, these resilient individuals constructed their makeshift skate park adjacent to Vibrate Space, a community center in Accra that offers free Wi-Fi, masterclasses, and studio recording facilities for the city's youth.

Expressing frustration at the lack of attention and action surrounding the issue, Olosunde called on those with the means to make a difference, particularly Abloh's influential friends.

He highlighted Abloh's tireless efforts to raise funds for the skatepark before his untimely passing and urged high-profile figures to step up and preserve his vision.

The rapper responded to Olosunde's call for help with an emphatic statement on Instagram. Scott declared, "MANNN WHATT WHAT WE DOINNNNNGGGGGGGG LET ME KNOW WHAT WE GOTTA DO TO GET MY BROTHER PARK BACK GOING PLEASSSSSEEEEEEE," indicating his readiness to take action and support the reopening of the skatepark.
