Back in 1995, ESPN originally an initialism for (Entertainment and Sports Programming Network) introduced The Extreme Games to the masses on national TV.
The 42-year-old Bristol, Connecticut, company had the weeklong extreme sports competition brought out the top-notch professional sports athletes in the entire world, across skateboarding, BMX, inline skating, and more.
At that moment, skateboarding legend Tony Hawk was one of a few pro vert skateboarders on the scene. It's a toughness the goofy-footed veteran earned after the success in the skateboarding craze in the '80s.
Hawk sparked and competed with the best vert ramp pros in a heavy commercial exposure from ESPN and The Extreme Games that took his career above and beyond.
The skateboarding vert veteran would become one of the most recognized skaters in the skate industry throughout the world, thanks to his skills and the momentum created on X Games.
