Vans Artistic Director SZA is stepping further into the world of skateboarding with the brand’s latest “Off the Wall” campaign for spring.
The singer is not only appearing in the campaign but also guiding the creative direction after recently being named artistic director.
The partnership continues to grow as she blends her personal style with the long running skate label.
The campaign arrives not long after SZA made an appearance at Paris Fashion Week wearing custom “VanSZA” sneakers.
The one of a kind pair was created by jeweler Rachel Goatley and quickly caught attention online.
It hinted at how serious the collaboration between SZA and Vans has become, with the artist now helping shape how the brand presents itself visually.
For the new campaign, SZA is joined by a mix of musicians and skaters who each bring their own style to the project.
The lineup includes Franz Lyons from the band Turnstile, Hayley Williams, Travis Barker, professional skateboarder Lizzie Armanto, and Tristan Funkhouser.
The group appears throughout the lookbook, each showing their own way of wearing one of Vans’ most recognizable silhouettes.
At the center of the campaign is the Vans Authentic.
The shoe has been around for decades and remains one of the most familiar designs in the brand’s lineup.
Vans is celebrating sixty years of the model being worn by skaters, musicians, and everyday fans who made it part of their personal style.
The Authentic is presented in several different looks.
Some pairs feature the classic checkerboard pattern that Vans fans instantly recognize. Others introduce plant inspired prints, while a few versions experiment with textured knit materials.
The idea behind the collection is simple. The shoe acts as a blank canvas where people can show their own taste.
The lookbook reflects that idea by letting each person in the campaign style the sneakers in their own way.
Instead of a strict uniform approach, the campaign highlights individuality. SZA’s creative direction leans into that freedom, giving the project a relaxed and expressive feel that fits naturally with the Vans identity.
Fans who want to grab a pair will not have to wait long.
The first round of Authentic sneakers featured in the campaign is scheduled to release on March 12 through Vans.
More color options will follow shortly after, with additional pairs arriving on April 2.
