Stewart Brown opened up about fatherhood and the lessons he continues to learn while raising daughters Sky and Ocean.
“There’s no handbook for being a dad,” Stewart wrote, admitting that he has had his share of mistakes along the way. He said his daughters have taught him more than they probably realize.
After spending time at back to back events, Stewart shared a message for parents, coaches, mentors and managers who are always focused on the next goal.
His advice is simple.
Slow down, be present and enjoy the time you have together.
“Goals are great, but the journey is the goal. The journey is the dream,” he wrote.
For Stewart, the good days, difficult moments and mistakes are all part of being human. What matters is learning, growing and continuing to love the people around you.
“Being a parent is rad. Humans are rad. Life is rad.”

"There’s no handbook for being a dad. My bad-dad moments that my kids have to endure while I’m still learning. We only learn by making mistakes—and that’s the hardest truth.
@skybrown and @oceanbrown have taught me more than they’ll ever know.
I guess after being in a lot of back to back events I just wanted to message to parents, coaches, mentors, managers that are chasing the next result or goal: to slow down, be present and enjoy each moment while you have it.
Goals are great, but the journey is the goal. The journey is the dream.
Learn from yesterday, but don’t get stuck in it.
Have hope for tomorrow, but remember—all we truly have is right now.
Use it. Live it. Be present for it.The wins, the hard days and the mistakes—it all matters. We’re human. We mess up, learn, grow and keep loving each other through it.
Being a parent is rad. Humans are rad. Life is rad. #weareblessed ❤️ "
