Throwing it back to the early 2000s with “Livin It,” a Christian skateboarding film from Stephen Baldwin and the Livin' It Ministry.
The film brings together skateboarding and Christian faith, featuring riders who share their stories and experiences with God.
“Livin' It” was filmed in Portland, Oregon, with footage from Skatechurch, an evangelical skate park founded by pastor Paul Andersen.
Baldwin also makes appearances in the film alongside executive producer Kevin Palau.
The project was created for young people who were already into skateboarding and BMX, giving them a way to hear about Christianity through riders they could connect with.
The film later became part of the wider Livin' It Ministry, which included a tour along with books and comics.
According to the ministry, more than 150,000 copies of “Livin' It” have been distributed.
For OG skateheads who grew up around the scene in the 2000s, this is an interesting look at how Christian ministries used skateboarding to reach young people.
