Aborted death metal bassist Stefano Franceschini revealed his departure as he essayed on a new chapter in his life, pursuing a Ph.D. While expressing gratitude for his incredible experience with the band, Franceschini explained the challenges posed by his academic commitments and the inevitable shift in priorities.

Franceschini shared his decision with fans, acknowledging the band's patience as he completed his studies and the amicable agreement to part ways.

The bassist emphasized that, despite the band's willingness to wait, the demands of his ongoing academic pursuits left little room for extensive touring.

The musician recounted cherished moments with Aborted, from the electrifying invitation to join the band to unforgettable tours with heavyweights like Kreator, Sepultura, and Soilwork.

Reflecting on his first US tour and the Hell over Europe II tour, Franceschini expressed gratitude for the dream-come-true experiences and the opportunity to contribute to two EPs and two records.
