Soulja Boy’s been outside and he’s not just skating for fun anymore.
After landing tricks and stacking clips for his upcoming film Kickflip Dreams, he’s now setting his sights on something bigger.
He will be launching his own skateboard company, SODMG Skateboards.
In a recent social media post, Big Draco asked fans what skate brand they think he should collaborate with, sparking a flood of comments and tag suggestions.
While he hasn’t dropped any official partnerships yet, it’s clear he’s been thinking about this move for a while.
If it happens, skater rapper Big Draco will be the first rapper-skater to start a skateboard brand under his own name.
That’s not a small deal, considering how rare it is to see artists from hip-hop seriously invest in skateboarding from the ground up and not just for merch or quick drops.
He’s not slapping a logo on a board and calling it a day. From the looks of it, he’s fully in.
Soulja’s been skating more often lately, filming at local parks and even sessioning with a few lowkey heads from the scene.
Some clips show him working on tricks with the same kind of focus you’d expect from someone trying to get a legit part together - not just skating for likes.
The idea of SODMG Skateboards fits right into Soulja’s pattern of doing things his own way.
He was early on YouTube, early on internet rap, and early on gaming collabs. Now he’s bringing that DIY approach into skateboarding, and it’s catching attention.
No word yet on when decks or merch might drop, or if there’s a full team in the works.
But if Soulja Boy follows through, it’s going to be interesting to see what kind of imprint SODMG Skateboards makes, especially with someone from music crossing into skating with this level of intent.
For now, all eyes are on what he does next.
