According to reports, a skateboarder making a long trip from Brighton to Morocco for charity recently had a rough break - someone stole pretty much all his stuff while he was camping in France, including his passport.
Sam Allison, 21, from East Sussex, is skating about 1,500 miles to raise money for the Ben Raemers Foundation, a charity that helps with mental health in the skateboarding world. Losing everything except his phone and wallet was a huge setback, but Sam didn’t let it stop him.
He had to swing by Bordeaux to get an emergency travel document and pick up some new gear like a tent, clothes, and a sleeping bag. Even though it sucked losing some personal things, he joked that skating without the heavy backpack actually made things easier.
Sam’s ride isn’t just about the skating — it’s about supporting a cause he really cares about. The foundation was set up to remember a pro skater who passed away and now helps skaters by making it easier to talk about mental health and find support.
He’s already raised a good chunk of money through a fundraiser and is pushing on through France and Spain, determined to finish the trip and help out the cause.
