Skateboarder Michael Manion, the true embodiment of a skatepark hero, recently had a dream come true as he finally met the skateboarding legend Tony Hawk.
Manion, a skateboarder hailing from the streets of Southern Georgia, shares his birthday with the Birdman and his passion for skateboarding.
His journey to meeting Tony Hawk was nothing short of remarkable.
It all began when he decided to enter the competition titled "Tony Hawk's Skatepark Hero."
The competition, which attracted skateboarders from all corners of the country, aimed to find the ultimate skatepark hero who not only possessed exceptional skills on a skateboard but also had a deep commitment to giving back.
His story is even more extraordinary because he is often referred to as a Tony Hawk doppelgänger.
Manion viewed Hawk as someone who paved the way for him to do what he loves.
Hawk's legendary status in the skateboarding world and his philanthropic efforts in building skateparks resonated deeply with the skatepark hero.
Manion posted, "Today was the sickest. There was so much to try and absorb all at once. But my meet with Tony Hawk is complete!"
He added. "Got a lot of clips to go through, but I will get content too you asap thank you everyone so much for believing in my and supporting me. And a huge thank you to Tony and his crew. As well as Skatepark Hero and The Skatepark Project."
