Core skater Samwise Sorter is not your average sales guy.
The skateboarding car salesman who went viral for sharing his love of skating with his work has always gotten mad love from core heads everywhere.
But there’s some news fans might not like: Samwise has officially parted ways with Honda. That’s right: he is no longer employed by the company that made him known.
According to Samwise, the split was mutual and ended on good terms. He emphasized there is no bad blood, though a few factors led to his decision to step away.
One main reason, he said, was that he wasn’t hitting the minimum sales requirements. Selling cars is far more challenging than it might seem. Many people see cars as liabilities rather than assets, which makes convincing someone to buy one a different kind of challenge compared to selling skateboards, which comes naturally to him.
The pressure of the sales game took a toll. Samwise said he didn’t want to wait until he was potentially fired for missing targets. The stress of constantly trying to meet quotas became too much, so he chose to resign on his own terms.
In a post to his followers, he wrote:
"No more skateboarding Car Sales men! Amazing people I got to work with but I unfortunately didn’t bring enough sales.
For now, Samwise isn’t sure what’s next. While his time as a car salesman has ended, his fans can expect him to continue producing content and sharing updates about his next steps. His combination of personality, creativity, and skateboarding passion has made him a memorable figure in the car sales world, even if the numbers didn’t always match the effort.
Leaving Honda marks the end of this chapter, but it opens opportunities to explore new directions. Whether it’s creating more content, focusing on skateboarding, or trying something entirely different, Samwise is taking a step back from structured sales to figure out what comes next.
