Early morning on January 15th, 2026, things went sideways in Lviv.
A Russian drone reportedly went down near the city’s main skate spot, smashing up a children’s playground and taking out part of the miniramp that everyone in the neighborhood knows.
People woke up to the sound of the explosion, but thankfully only one person got hurt, and it was minor.
The hit didn’t just touch the skate spot.
Some nearby buildings got damaged too, including an old church from the twentieth century.
Locals said that this isn’t random. It feels like an attack on the people, on the culture, and on everything that makes the community theirs.
Even with some wood busted and parts of the ramp damaged, the skate spot is still standing. And that matters.
For skaters around here, that ramp isn’t just a place to skate. It’s where they hang, laugh, meet friends, and feel alive.
The playground was hit, sure, but the spirit of the neighborhood isn’t gone.
People are cleaning up, helping each other, and getting back to what they can. Skaters are still riding the ramp that survived. Kids are finding spots to play again.
They are proof that the community won’t back down, no matter what comes flying from the sky.

"Before and after ruzzia.
January 15th, 2026 in the early morning - ruzzian drone fell down near main skate spot in Lviv, destroying children playground and part of the miniramp.
Luckily, only one person was lightly injured; some parts of the nearest buildings (including XX century church) were damaged too.
ruzzians are trying not only to kill our people, but to destroy our culture, erase our existence and history, our future.
BTW ramp is still standing as well as Ukraine in fight against cowards that are bombing civilian infrastructure and buildings, children playgrounds, schools, hospitals and etc."
