Roger Skateboards started back in 2008 as two homies messing around with boards and a dream.
Years later it grew into a crew, a family, and a brand that everybody in the streets knew.
From random spots to backyard sessions, Roger was about pure skating, hanging with your people, and making memories that stuck.
Founders Stacy Lowery and Michael Sieben decided it was time to step back.
Running the brand for so long took everything they had, and they didn’t want to half-step or let it fade out.
Fans and riders will remember the laughs, the craziness, the late-night sessions, and even the wild weird sh*t that happened along the way. There was nothing fake about it.
Roger was never about clout or hype.
It was about showing up, skating hard, and keeping it real. Over the years the crew inspired people and built a space where anyone could roll with the team and feel like they belonged.
Even though the company isn’t making boards anymore, it left its mark. Skaters will still ride the lines Roger made, tell the stories, and pass it on to the next crew.
The brand might be gone but the memories, the tricks, and the street cred live on.
"When Stacy Lowery and I started Roger in 2008, we didn’t have a 5-year plan. To be honest, I think we were both surprised when the company lasted more than a year. But it did. And then it just kept going. Before we knew it, over 15 years had passed. And during that time, priceless friendships grew.
But now we’re saying goodbye to our friend Roger. We no longer have sufficient time or energy to dedicate to the brand, and phoning it in feels like a disservice to both the team and to ourselves. So, it’s with heavy hearts that we willingly pull the plug rather than watch our friend wither and fade away. Thank you to everyone who has ever supported us in any way, and big love to all of the team riders, past and present, who helped make this company feel like a community. It’s been a heck of a ride, and we’re blessed to have so many amazing memories to look back upon. We appreciate you tuning in and hanging out with our friend Roger. See you at the skate spot. —Michael Sieben
(And, yes, we did get haunted by puppets for a few years, but we don’t talk about that. Too spooky.)"
