From fairy tale princess showcasing her talent by heelfliping stairs, to women’s street skateboarding Olympic silver medalist, Ryssa Leal gets a skateboarding shoe deal with Nike SB called "Verona Slip."
Leal first gained attention at the age of seven via social media videos of her skating in a tutu and jumping off tall structures on her skateboard. She was dubbed "A Fadinha do Skate", translated roughly as "The Little Fairy of Skateboarding."
The 14-year-old skater girl's mix of imagination and determination endeared her to the world and made her a role model for a new generation.
"I hope I can keep inspiring other girls to start skating," Leal said. "Not only girls but everyone actually."
Driven by her passion for skating, the Imperatriz, Maranhão Brazil, native knock-off number 53 in the global rankings, officially snapping intense tricks on all skate contests, which the Nike SB Verona Slip celebrates her rise.
The Rayssa Verona Slip features an all-over cloud print and illustrated insole with nods to her roots and rise in skateboarding.
