Professional skateboarder Paul Rodriguez, also known as "P-Rod," has recently thrown it back to his roots in skateboarding with the release of his Forecast VX Raw Files.
The raw footage showcases some of his earliest skateboarding clips filmed using the iconic VX camera.
For new skaters, the VX camera is a type of video camera popular in the skateboarding community during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Its grainy, lo-fi aesthetic has become synonymous with skateboarding culture's raw energy and authenticity.
In the Forecast VX Raw Files, P-Rod journeys us through his early skateboarding days. The footage features him skating with some gnarly and untouched skate spots.
PRod's part also offers a unique glimpse into the skateboarding industry during a pivotal time in its history. It was when skateboarding was on the cusp of becoming mainstream, and many skaters featured in the footage were on the brink of superstardom.
