As previously reported, Switch God Paul Rodriguez expressed concern about the evolving style of skateboarding, stating that the essence of skating is becoming diluted. He said, "The soul of skateboarding is becoming watered down."
Despite facing backlash and getting called out by skate legend Clyde Singleton, P-Rod did not apologize and continued to stand by his comment that the new generation of skaters are teaching themselves like robots without any style.
OG skate heads agreed with the comments made by the head of Primitive Skate, while the new skaters did not appreciate his opinion.
In a new interview on Full Grind & Unwind Episode 33 with Gary Rogers, P-Rod said that he was speaking loudly and aggressively when he made his point.
P-Rod clarified that his intention was not to offend but to express a passionate viewpoint. "The point is, I still stand on what I was saying," he affirmed. Reflecting on the manner in which he delivered his message, P-Rod acknowledged that his words might have been perceived as aggressive due to his strong emotions at the time.
"The sentiment of what I was saying is there," P-Rod explained. "If I was in a better state of mind, I could have articulated it better. I wouldn't have said it so aggressively because I would have got my message across better."
