A bull moose got himself stuck in a skatepark halfpipe in Red Lodge, Montana, on September 7, leaving rescuers with an unusual problem.
The roughly 1,000 pound animal fell into Hellroaring Skate Park around 10 a.m. but couldn’t climb back out because the steep concrete walls offered little traction.
Montana wildlife officials and local police spent hours trying to guide him toward an exit as curious residents watched from a distance.
When that didn’t work, crews tranquilized the moose, lifted him out with a harness, and loaded him into a trailer.
He was taken to a nearby park to wake up before being released back into the wild. Officials confirmed the animal was healthy and uninjured.
