Momiji Nishiya becomes Japan's youngest Olympic street skateboarding champion at 13.

Even though Nishiya fell on her first two attempts in the best trick portion of the finals, she bounced back to surge into the lead.

Nishiya completed her tricks with a score of 15.26 points to claim the gold. Leal took silver with 14.64 points, and Nakayama claimed bronze with 14.49.

The young Olympic champions were the last three skaters of the day and assured of medals before their final domination. The only thing left to decide was the accolades.

This is the first in skateboarding and Olympic history to have thirteen-year-olds be the world champions.

Congratulations to Momiji Nishiya for taking home the gold, Rayssa Leal for her impressive talent in getting silver, and Funa Nakayama for receiving bronze.
