Skateboarding legend and punk rocker Mike Vallely has joined GORUCK as the company’s new Chief Brand Officer.
Vallely has been rucking since 2011, when he started with duct taped bricks in a GR1 backpack.
What began as a personal routine eventually became a big part of his life.
During the pandemic, he rucked with his daughter Lucy, and in 2024 they traveled to Normandy to complete an 80K ruck for the 80th anniversary of D Day.
Vallely says rucking has become a passion and a calling for him. Now, he is bringing that experience to GORUCK as Chief Brand Officer. Congrats!

"I started in 2011 with duct-taped bricks in a GR1—pounding pavement with purpose. Legs and lungs and joy. People thought I was crazy.
Through the pandemic, my daughter Lucy and I shouldered the weight and logged the long, hard miles together. In 2024, we traveled to Normandy on the 80th anniversary of D-Day to Ruck 80K. A bond.
Rucking brings people together. For me, it is so much more than a daily practice—it is a passion and an essential part of who I am.
The Rucking Revolution isn’t just a movement I participate in; it’s a calling.
Join me: @goruck"
