Professional skateboarder Lizard King has officially ended his partnership with Space Pupil Skateboards.
After an extended break from skating due to a torn MCL injury, the satanic pro skater had been recovering and spending some time away from his usual competitive grind.
When he finally made his return to the board, we posted an article celebrating his comeback, seeing it as a fresh start in his skateboarding career. However, it wasn’t long before Lizard King reached out to us directly, leaving a message that turned things in a new direction.
He wrote, “I don’t ride for Space Pupil anymore! Just putting skating for fun, baby! Appreciate if you can change that post! MUCHO PASSION BABY.”
We were surprised by his words, considering Lizard King's long-standing relationship with Space Pupil Skateboards and Al Partanen.
Our team was quick to update the post as per his request, but we couldn't help but wonder about the shift. We followed up with him to learn more about his decision, but unfortunately, we didn’t receive a response.
While the reasons behind the split remain unclear, Lizard King's message suggests that he's taking a more laid-back, personal approach to skating - focusing on enjoying the ride without the pressure of sponsorship.
It’s clear that he’s still deeply passionate about skateboarding, but in a way that allows him to enjoy it on his own terms.
The 40-year-old has always been known for his unapologetic style, and this latest move fits right into that persona. We’re super pumped to see where his passion for skateboarding takes him next as we continue to follow along.
