After a long stretch away from the streets, Michael "Lizard King" Plumb is finally back on his skateboard.
The Satanic pro skater tore his MCL last September 2024, forcing him to take some time off to recover. But now, almost eight months later, he’s back and ready to tear it up again.
In the fall of 2024, Lizard King shared his frustration with fans, posting on social media, "MY KNEE KNEE
BACK TO BEING BROKEN FOR A BIT!!!! IT WAS STILL FUN TO TRY
@guerrerogallery @aschoultz"
Anyone who follows him knows that he’s never one to shy away from giving his all, even when things aren’t going in his favor. But after months of rehab and recovery, it’s clear that the wait was worth it.
Fast forward to April 2025, and the skateboarding world was treated to an exciting update.
The former Space Pupil Skateboards pro dropped a fresh video showing off his impressive backside kickflip on a bank, a trick that showcases his return to full force with fellow pro skater Andrew Schoultz in a back-to-back action.
His caption for the post was simple but filled with pure excitement: "MY MCL IS ALMOST BETTER AND BABY IT FEELS GOOD TO SKATE AGAIN!!!"
Lizard King’s style is something that’s been sorely missed. But now, with his MCL nearly healed up, he’s back in action, picking up right where he left off. And it’s clear that he hasn’t lost any of his edge.
It’s not just about getting back on the board. It's about being able to hit the streets again and do what he does best.
His fans have been waiting for this moment, and now that he’s returning, it feels like the skate scene is about to be treated to some truly gnarly sessions.
No doubt, the next few months will be filled with incredible footage of his skating, as he picks up momentum once again.
Recovering from an injury like an MCL tear isn’t easy, but Lizard King’s persistence has paid off. Now, he’s ready to show the skateboard world just how strong his recovery really is and how he hasn’t missed a beat in his skating.
