Toy Machine Skateboards professional skateboarder Leo Romero has been wanting to be a part of the Zero Skateboards team since he was young.
"To be pro for Zero for a little bit? Why the f*ck not?" Romero said.
In the late 90s and early 2000s, Jamie Thomas and the Zero heavy-hitting squad dominated the skate video scene with too much gnarly handrail skating.
With Zero's resume of Thrill of it All, Misled Youth, Dying to Live, and New Blood, skateboarders in the golden era were blown away due to the prestige and their punk attitude on the board.
The handrails were more of how hardcore you are, nailing simple yet proper slides and grinds.
The Chief was known for his "One More Try" five-0 grind, which he performed twice to ensure it stood out.
On March 25, 2024, Romero didn't hesitate to back down from the offer made by The Chief to have a guest board. He said, "If you weren't on that level of Zero at that time to me, then you just weren't it. It wasn't badass enough to me."
Romero also noted that the reason he agreed to have the guest board is because of The Chief. He has so much respect to the headh honcho ne never said no.
The 37-year-old is still ripping today, and he surely deserves a guest board from Zero Skateboards. Congrats!
