Baker and the growing LGBTQIA+ skate team behind the brand celebrated a strong start with the official launch of the company and the release of their first full-length skate video.
The video premiere was gnarly, and it was clear from the turnout and response that folks were hyped to support.
Skaters from across the community showed up, including plenty of familiar faces from the LGBTQIA+ skate scene.
Tacky Joy Factory isn’t just a name on a board. It’s a space for people who’ve often been left out of traditional skateboarding to create, collaborate, and be seen for who they are on and off the board.
The brand is built around community, creativity, and skating on your own terms.
Baker has been outspoken about the importance of making space for people who don’t fit into the usual molds, and that intention shines through everything the brand puts out.
Thrasher Magazine was there too, showing support and giving some well-earned attention to the crew.
It's a solid sign that the industry is starting to take note of projects that come from a place of sincerity and inclusion, rather than just chasing trends.
