Professional skateboarder Kristian Svitak has returned to Blockhead Skateboards after nearly a decade with Mike V's Street Plant Skateboards.
Svitak announced his departure from Street Plant and shared his decision to join Blockhead Skateboards, a company run by his longtime friend Dave Bergthold.
Svitak expressed his support for Mike Vallely and his family and his excitement to be back with Blockhead Skateboards, the brand that initially supported him in his career.
Svitak's skateboarding career has been eventful, having been with various skateboard companies over the years.
He first rode for Invisible Skateboards, a sister company of Blockhead, in 1995 before joining Street Plant in 2015.
Now, he's returning to Blockhead Skateboards, and a new video featuring him, titled 'Heads Up,' has just been released.
In 2025, his full part, 'Barge Hard 50,' is set to drop, along with new pro models arriving in the spring.
Svitak expressed his gratitude for the support he has received over the decades and looks forward to the next chapter with Blockhead Skateboards.
Svitak posted on his official Instagram account:
"A new professional skateboarding venture.
After months of @mikevallely and I trying to figure out the future of @streetplant , it was decided to bring it to an end so Mike can focus his time and energy on @blackflagband .
As much as I cared and loved Streetplant, I care and love Mike and his family more and I fully support this decision.I am now riding for another one of my best friends companies, @davie_berg @blockhead_skateboards .
Dave Bergthold, his wife @laurie_b_needs_treats and @laban_001 are family to me.
Laban and Dave were the FIRST people to ever sponsor me back in 1995 with their then sister company to Blockhead, Invisible Skateboards.I would ride for Invisible for 3 years till it closed its doors in 1998.
I then rode for and turned pro for @blacklabelskates for 7 years. 1998-2005.
Then I went on to run and ride for my own company @1031skates for 9 years. 2006-2015.
Next I rode for Streetplant for the past 9.5 years. 2015-2024.
And now it has come full circle. I’m right back with the people that gave me my chance so many years ago. I’ve been skating and hanging out with these guys all these years, so it is a VERY natural decision for me.
Blockhead just dropped a new video ‘Heads Up’ (should be online soon). I have a small mini ‘welcome to the team’ teaser part in it. My A list footage is being saved for my full part ‘Barge Hard 50’ to be released 2025.
My new Pro Models on Blockhead should be available by spring. Thanks for all of your support over the decades. -KS"
