Skateboarding really drew a crowd for South African kids at the Kimberley Diamond Cup Grandslam Tour over the weekend in Thaba Nchu.
Skaters from all over Africa showed up for the Free State leg of the event, organized by the Northern Cape Department of Economic Development and Tourism.
This was a cool chance for skateboarders to show off their skills and hang out with others who are just as passionate about skating.
With around 60 skaters in attendance, the competition was a great lead-up to the big finals happening next month. But for many, it was about more than just winning.
The event has been spreading skateboarding to various places, helping young skaters find their groove and connect with a community.
