Hawaii just added another name to its list of heavy hitters.
Keanu Nuuanu came through and took the top spot in Jenkem & Mob Grip’s $1,000 Spot Bounty Challenge, locking in a well-earned payday and as if that wasn’t enough, scoring the cover of the latest Jenkem mag.
Jenkem and Mob Grip’s Spot Bounty Challenges are all about giving skaters an extra reason to get creative and throw down at well-known (or overlooked) spots.
This time, Nuuanu pulled off something so good that even the slow-motion replay had to be appreciated twice. Jenkem summed it up best:
"The slow mo
camera angle via @mokelife of the Hawaii Spot Bounty Challenge shows all
Congrats again @keanu_nuuanu
Thx @mobgrip for being down to throw in some prize money on this one too. Where’s the next challenge?
DM us a spot you’ve been wanting to see go down and let’s see if we can make it happen
"
That’s about as direct as it gets. Nuuanu handled business, walked away with a grand, and put his name on a Jenkem cover in the process. Not a bad way to wrap things up.
It’s always sick to see these kinds of challenges bring out the best from local scenes.
Instead of waiting for big contests or major events, it’s about putting something on the line right then and there, letting the skaters dictate what’s possible.
Now the only question is, where’s the next Spot Bounty going down?
