Have you seen the Japanese skateboarding TV show called "KASSO"? It's produced by TBS, who made Ninja Warriors and Takeshi Castle. The first two episodes aired on March 18 and 25, 2024.
The show features some seriously gnarly Japanese skateboarders who take on three massive skateboarding courses like something out of a video game. If they can complete all three courses, they win a cool 1 million yen.
"KASSO" is a Japanese term for "slide," and the skaters definitely slide their way through some crazy courses that have never been done before at any kind of skateboarding competition.
The first course is called Midoriyama Downhill, where skaters race down a 400-meter-long, 30-meter-high slope with all kinds of insane obstacles.
Next up is UZUSHIO, a 40-meter-long spiraling course. The goal is to reach the end without falling into a dirty pond. Yikes!
Finally, there's the Tokyo Upside Down course, which is made up of two blocks. In the first block, skaters have to finish a 130-meter stretch in just 31 seconds. Then, in the second block, they have to get through the closing MILLION GATE without touching it. If they can do it, they win a million yen!
