Skateboarding veteran John Lucero has been in the game for more than two decades without showing a sign of stopping from being creative.
Thrasher magazine is kind enough to cruise around Lucero's place to show everyone one of the most iconic skate art in history.
The Black Label Skateboards founder started skating in the mid-1970s, and got his first sponsor with a good word from Neil Blender, and turned pro in 1984.
Just like other professional skateboarders, Lucero put in the work to stay in the industry. Along the way, he worked in the art departments at Madrid and Vision, drawing pro graphics for himself and others while absorbing details about the business.
Lucero expressed his eagerness to draw his signature boards as he always wanted to do what he loves as a skateboarder and artist.
"I already knew I was done. I have the best with me, my best friend, and the best skater, and if I can get in for one last pro model, maybe I can get a job in the art department," Lucero said.
It has become increasingly rare for a professional skateboarder to become an artist, especially back in Lucero's time. What he has accomplished as a pro and artist makes him one of the top-seeded veterans in the skate industry.
