YouTube skater John Hill has been hated on by skateboarders for years but didn't stop vlogging and just focusing on becoming a YouTuber on the internet.
Hill admitted that when he was young, he was bullied and was called the "F word" several times.
He still didn't mind and became immune to the hate. As a result, he is now a famous influencer in the skateboarding space.
The 33-year-old discussed professional skateboarder Ryan Sheckler with former skater rapper Lamont Holt and said that they used to also hate Shecks when he became mainstream as an MTV star back in the day.
Hill thought of Shecks and said, "Damn, Sheckler got a lot of sh*t from people. I can't believe he kept skating. I can't believe he like wanted to be a skater after his whole thing."
Which Holt agreed about Shecks' show and said, "After that show bro, especially in my area they was teasing the f*ck out bro."
"Oh same, dude we were watching it like laughing and be like, who is this clown? You know whatever, Hill said. "We do it in private, though.
Hence, both felt bad for Shecks for all the hate he received from the skate community. "Damn, they put him in really tough spots or whatever and like you also kind of realize you live in California for a while too you're like it doesn't mean life is easy if you get all this cool sh*t," Hill explained.
He added. "You still got to struggle in like so many different ways, he's a kid too but yeah I watch it and I'm like, why is he dealing with skaters? But you know what it is? It's the few people in skating who stood up for him and said the cool sh*t where he feels like his family is in skating even if all other skaters hate him, he still feels his community and his family is skating and at the end of the day like even if we get a lot of hate online or whatever."
The YouTube star knows how it feels to be hated and loved by many, even though he used to hate Shecks when he was younger.
