Joey Brezinski, a name in the skateboard world who has been active over the past couple of decades, recently shared on Instagram that he made a pretty big life change.

After years of traveling for contests, demo tours, and filming parts, he decided to take a step back from pro skating and start working as a mailman for the United States Postal Service.
Jenkem Mag caught up with him to talk about what this new chapter looks like and how he feels about the switch.
Joey explained it with the kind of honesty that shows he is genuinely comfortable with his decision.
"I think at the moment when I was like, hey, I'm a mailman," he said, "I just felt like it was time. I shouldn't be ashamed of what I do for a living. I would go to Tampa and say, ‘Yeah, I’m a skateboarder, I’ve done all this,’ and then I’d say, ‘Yeah, dude, now I’m a postman,’ and I felt like I downgraded my life. But now, I actually enjoy it."
Being a mailman is not about stepping away from skateboarding or giving up something he loved. It is about finding something that feels grounded, routine, and honest in a different way.
The days are long and the work can be physically demanding, but there is also a rhythm and satisfaction that comes with delivering letters and packages and knowing exactly where you stand.
He also talked about how skateboarding shaped the way he approaches this new job. Skateboarding taught him to keep at it, to deal with setbacks, and to be patient. You need all of that as a mailman too.
Joey’s story shows that life does not have to follow a single path and that sometimes stepping into something completely different can bring a new sense of purpose.
He still skates when he can, but now he also has a job that keeps him connected to his community in a way that contests and filming never could.
For anyone watching from the outside, it may seem like a drastic change, but for Joey, it is just another way of living life to the fullest.
