YouTuber Zack Dowdy has recently posted a video about "How to Skateboard When You're Old."
Dowdy figured that professional skateboarder Tyrone Olson is a good fit for the subject that he wants to let the old skate-heads and the youth learn more about aging and skating.
Neal Unger may not be in the video but he is currently the oldest skateboarder in the world and is now 63 years of age. He may also not be a professional skater but he is notable enough to be known in the skate world.
The mentality of Unger as an old skater is about working on improving his skills every day while proudly noting that he’s still a beginner. This proves that a skateboarder can never be too old to pick up a skateboard and learn new tricks.
Dowdy on the other hand says that skating keeps you young. He also asked the wheelchair skater Robert Thompkins a piece of advice for people who has a lot of excuses. Thompkins says, "no excuses, you're not getting old because you're skateboarding but you're getting old because you're not skateboarding" - a famous skateboarding quote from the legendary Z-boys member Jay Adams.
Pro skater Tyron Olson weighs in on the topic when asked.
He says, "pray, eat good, take care of yourself, go to sleep, and don't be staying up partying." Because you are going to be tired and you won't have enough energy skating. He also said. "Select a big warning and stay healthy. It ain't going to last forever." He also paid homage to the hip-hop legend DMX. He continued. "He is an example of too much partying that will catch up to you man."
