Hayley Wilson has carved her name in history as the first female to receive the Slam Skateboarding Magazine's Skater of the Year award for 2024.

Presented by Converse Australia & New Zealand, the accolade celebrates a consequential point, breaking traditional barricades in the male-dominated skateboarding industry.

However, Wilson stole the spotlight, making everyone cheer for her as the AU SOTY.

Catriona Wilson, Hayley's proud dad, took to social media to share the exciting moment of the award ceremony.

In a heartfelt post, Catriona captured the essence of Hayley's reaction upon discovering she had been honored with Australia's most prestigious skateboarding accolade.

He said, "About last night…the look on Hayley’s face when she walked in to discover she had been awarded Australia’s most prestigious Skateboarding honour- Australia’s Skateboarder of the year was priceless. So exciting! Hayley also made history being the first woman to be awarded this honour for her video part releases and media production and her commitment and dedication to the skateboarding industry. We are so proud of you Hayley as you continue to inspire the next gen."
