The Orlando skate community is grieving the loss of Kenny G, the owner of Galactic G Skateshop.

Kenny was more than just a shop owner—he was a friend, a mentor, and someone who always made time for skaters of all levels.

Galactic G Skateshop shared a heartfelt message saying that they are heartbroken over the passing of Kenny, who played such a meaningful role in the local scene. His kindness, passion, and dedication to skateboarding touched many lives, and his presence in Orlando will be deeply missed.

For years, Kenny G welcomed everyone into his shop and his world. Skaters would stop by not only to check out boards and gear but also to talk about tricks, swap stories, and connect with a community that Kenny helped grow. He had a way of making people feel included, no matter where they were in their skating.

Our contributor and longtime follower Dan Munhoz shared his thoughts on Kenny’s impact:

"Hey man, I’ve been a part of the Orlando skate scene for a long time and just wanted to share that Kenny G, the owner of Galactic G Skateshop, just passed. He was a legend and more people should know about him. He helped out skaters like the Dern Bros before they became famous and many, many people in the Florida skate scene."

Friends, fellow skaters, and customers remember Kenny for his humor, patience, and genuine care. The shop was a gathering place where friendships were built, lessons were shared, and memories were made. His impact on the Orlando skate scene goes beyond the boards and wheels—it’s in the people he inspired and the friendships he helped create.

Galactic G Skateshop said their hearts are with Kenny’s family, friends, and everyone who had the chance to know him. The loss is felt across the city, and his memory will live on in the countless skaters whose lives he touched.

Orlando skaters are coming together to honor Kenny, sharing stories and photos, and celebrating the times they spent at Galactic G. His influence on the local community will not be forgotten, and the shop continues to stand as a place where people can remember him and carry on his love for skateboarding.
