Ever wonder how to be a freelance skate filmmaker? Well, this is your chance to get to know Los Angeles-area professional filmer Nick Hanson.
The Berrics shadowed Hanson for a day to show everyone what it's like to become a successful freelancer as a filmer.
Professional skateboarders Paul Rodriguez, Manny Santiago, and Ben Nordberg were on the session, skating their way as passionate athletes to film for their fans.
The 24-year-old agreed to have the crew follow him as he work on his day-to-day activity working with the top-seeders in the skate industry.
"Growing up in Iowa I could only dream of a day like this to come true!
I can remember watching Colin Kennedy’s ‘Shoot All Skaters’ and just being in awe, especially since he just dropped that ‘Quik’ piece with Austyn Gillette, but honestly from that moment I knew I wanted to make filming skateboarding not just a dream but my everyday reality." Hanson said.
He added. "I honestly can’t thank everyone from every chapter and stage in my life from being the lil dweeb, chubby kid filming skatepark edits at Saylor, Skate South, and the Ankeny Park with Subsect guys to relocating to the Suburbs of Chicago and getting to broaden my horizons indefinitely and open my eyes to how amazing skateboarding in a big city is and how welcomed I felt from the start from Fargo skateboarding, Prosper skateshop, and Uprise skateshop, and then to taking the initial leap of faith to LA, more specifically Kingswell Los Feliz, to try and make it in this industry."
"I wouldn’t change anything in the world for this and to have my dreams be my reality." He continued. "Thank you so much Brian Korff and The Berrics for blessing me with being in my very own video in front of the camera, never in a million years I would have thought I’d be in the spotlight!" Hanson explained.
"Another thank you to j8wen, Ben Nordberg, Patrick Melcher, Paul Rodriguez, and Manny Santiago for being a part of the video! Also, huge shout out to Santacruz skateboards, NHS inc, Zumiez, and Zumiez best foot forward for being the ultimate reason why I’m even here today, thank you for taking your leap of faith with me. I can’t thank you enough for this amazing life and amazing family." Hanson said.
Watch the video below, and don't forget to congratulate Hanson on his success as a filmmaker. Enjoy!
