Back in 2011, Zero skateboards created the brand Threat skateboards under their wing and managed it via Black Box Distribution by one of the gnarliest skateboarding living legends, Jamie Thomas, to give the same aspect as Zero skateboards but with an affordable price for skaters who are always down to shred handrails, keeping it real and raw. To invigorate the market, Forrest Edwards was introduced in 2013 together with Gareth Hill. However, for some unforeseen circumstances, the brand pulled its plug.
Somewhere in December 2016, Forrest Edwards gets a Zero board with his name on it, and according to Jamie Thomas on his Jenkem interview, he knew what he was getting himself into with Forrest.
He says: "In the beginning, it seemed like we could work with Forrest, but in the months leading up to when the part was scheduled to drop he got harder and harder to deal with. Our crew tried to connect with him to film and shoot photos for his interview and the ad, but he’d always flake, and the few times they did hook up with him, it was a nightmare."
The Slap magazine "One In A Million" pro skater Forrest Edwards did not stop skating hard in the streets and kept it real even if there were issues when he was riding for Threat skateboards to Zero Skateboards and out of the two board companies. There were many speculations about what happened to Forrest but, we know at Shred Everything Radio that all of the hurdles that Forrest faced were outwitted without a doubt - and now with the very exciting news that he is now back to one of the sickest skate team ever existed in the skateboarding history, we know that he will always excel using his skills and abilities no matter what. Look out for prodigious talent Forrest Edwards in this month, and moving forward, and for sure big things will happen with the Zero crew together with his help.
As per the chief, "5 years later, we are proud to properly introduce Forrest Edwards to the team! He has a short intro part on the Thrasher magazine's site."
The "Into The Void" video part from Forrest is absolute mayhem with so many flip in combos on handrails, nollie heelflip to backside boardslide, 360 flip to 50-50, and other out of this world skateboarding tricks that will blow your mind. And after all of the things that went down from Jamie's camp and Forrest, it is truly a great feeling from Zero skateboards and Forest Edwards' fans that all is well now. And just like what the old saying goes, timing is everything.
