Professional skateboarder Dane Vaughn has taken on a new challenge outside of skating, completing his first marathon in under four hours.
Four months ago, Vaughn decided he wanted to try something different and set his sights on running a marathon. Balancing training with his daily life as a professional skateboarder meant staying consistent and making time for both.
Looking back, Vaughn described the decision as one of the best he had made in a long time. Training gave him something new to work toward and kept him motivated, focused, and fulfilled throughout the process.
He also expressed his gratitude to the people who have supported him over the years, recognizing the role they played in helping him reach his goal.
The result was exactly what he had hoped for. Vaughn finished the race in less than four hours and said he was extremely happy with his performance.
For someone whose career revolves around skateboarding, taking on a marathon was a chance to challenge himself in a completely different way. And judging by his results, the hard work paid off.
Vaughn has already set his sights on another race, ending his update with a simple message that this was just number one, and he cannot wait for the next.

"4 months ago, I decided I wanted to challenge myself to something more than just skating. I wanted to run a marathon.
I knew I would have to lock in and really show up consistently while still keeping up with my everyday life as a professional skateboarder.
It honestly was the best decision I’ve made in a long time. It kept me incredibly motivated, determined, and fulfilled.
I’m so appreciative of everyone in my life and who has supported me throughout the years.
I was able to finish in the time I wanted to, sub 4 hours, and am extremely happy with the results.
This is just number one. Can’t wait till the next!"
