Skateboarding legend Daewon Song recently shared some rough news with his fans after an accident left him with injured ribs and a serious case of vomiting.
Song posted about his condition, saying:
“I injured my ribs and got hit by some kind of stomach bug! Vomiting with a fractured rib has got to be the worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life.”
The former Thank You Skateboards co-founder’s injury has kept him off his board for now, and it sounds like he is focusing on resting and taking care of himself.
F*cked up ribs can be extremely painful, especially when combined with any stomach illness, so it is understandable that even small movements could be difficult.
The timing has also caught some attention because pro skater Manny Santiago recently mentioned that a new COVID variant might be circulating after he experienced a severe illness following his return from tour.

While the symptoms Song described overlap slightly with what Santiago posted online, it is not clear if the illness is related.
Doctors often stress that vomiting and fatigue can also happen with regular stomach bugs, so fans are hoping that Song’s situation is just a bad case of that and not a new virus.
Despite the discomfort, Song seems to be keeping his spirits up.
Recovery may take a while, but Song has shown before that he knows how to handle setbacks.
Fans are looking forward to seeing him back on his board when he is fully healed, taking the time he needs to rest, and hopefully avoiding any further complications.
