Job Description: Managing Editor – ShreddER
Who We Are
ShreddER is all about skateboarding. We’re a site run by skaters, for skaters, bringing you the freshest news, raw stories, and dope content that hits right at the core of street sh*t. From events and gear to deep dives into the scene, we’re here to keep it real and keep skaters stoked.
About The Role
We’re on the lookout for a Managing Editor who knows skateboarding inside and out. If you’ve been shredding for 8–10 years, know what’s happening in the skate world, and have the skills to lead a crew of content creators, this might be your calling.
You’ll be in charge of shaping ShreddER’s content, leading the team, and making sure everything we drop speaks to skaters everywhere.
Main Duties
- Run the Show: Plan what we cover and when, from event highlights to in-depth stories about skaters and skate culture.
- Lead the Crew: Manage a team of writers and creators to keep the content rolling and on point.
- Edit Like a Pro: Fine-tune articles and features so they’re sharp, accurate, and full of core skateboarding.
- Stay Connected: Keep your ear to the ground—talk to skaters, brands, and anyone making moves in the scene.
- Go Beyond Writing: Help make killer videos, interviews, and interactive content with the team.
- Check the Numbers: Use analytics to see what’s working and what’s not, and adjust the game plan to keep us growing.
- Show Up for the Scene: Hit up skate events, comps, and other gatherings to report what’s going down.
- Keep it Real: Make sure everything we do sticks to the core side of skateboarding—no sell-out here.
Minimum Qualifications
- Skate Cred: You’ve been skating for 8–10 years and live the core/street culture. You know the history, trends, and all the unspoken rules.
- Content Skills: You’ve got at least 5 years of experience writing, editing, or running content—bonus points if it’s in skateboarding or something similar.
- Digital Know-How: You’re comfortable with websites, social media, and tracking what hits with the audience.
- Leadership: You can guide a team, hit deadlines, and make big decisions without hesitation.
- Creative Eye: You’ve got a knack for storytelling that speaks to skaters, not losers who wear suits.
Why Join Us?
This is your chance to lead a skateboarding site that actually gets it. Work with people who love skating as much as you do, and help tell the stories that matter to the skate community. No boring corporate bullsh*t, just raw, unfiltered skateboarding.
