From baggy jeans and oversized tees to skinny pants and slim-fit everything, skateboarders have been trendsetters in their own right.

But if there's one trend that has recently made a triumphant comeback, it's the bulky skate shoe from Emerica.

From the '90s to now, these chunky kicks are back with a vengeance, taking the skateboarding world by storm.

Hence, skater-owned brands are the lifeblood of our community. These brands are run by people who live and breathe skateboarding and pour their hearts into creating products that reflect the spirit of skate culture.

They are the ones who sponsor local skaters, build DIY spots, and give back to the community.

For those who remember the '90s skateboarding scene, bulky skate shoes were the footwear of choice.

Brands like Osiris, Etnies, and DC Shoes ruled street skating, producing sneakers that seemed almost comically oversized.

"We are proud to reintroduce the iconic OG-1, one of our most demanded reissues." Emerica posted."

They added. "A timeless silhouette from the late 90’s, the reissued OG-1 features a bulletproof full rubber cupsole, suede & mesh upper, triple stitch reinforcements in the high-wear zones for added durability and the classic herringbone tread for ultimate grip just how you remember it. Made for Emerica fans. Made for skateboarding. Available now at your local skate shop."
