Sk8 Mafia's professional skateboarder Brandon Turner declared October 25 "Switch Hardflip Day." In an exciting announcement made via his social media channels, Turner has promised a $1,000 cash prize to the skater who can pull off the best switch hardflip on a special day.
The unique declaration stems from Turner's passion for skateboarding and desire to give back to the community.
He reminisced about 2020 when a switch hardflip earned the prestigious "SLS Trick of the Year."
This monumental moment inspired him to establish an annual tradition of celebrating the switch hardflip.
Before winning SLS Trick Of The Year, the 41-year-old spearheaded the same gnarly trick on his Shorty's video part at the iconic Carlsbad Gap skate spot (RIP Carlsbad).
Every year, Turner intends to celebrate 'Switch Hardflip Day' by awarding $1,000 to the skater who showcases the best switch hardflip, whether down a set of stairs, over an obstacle, or on any creative terrain.
To enter the contest, skaters must follow a few simple steps. First, they need to tag and follow Turner (@bturner_), as well as sponsors such as Sk8Mafia (@sk8mafia), Independent Trucks (@independenttrucks), and The West Recovery (@thewestrecovery).
Then, skaters can post their switch hardflip videos on their social media profiles using the hashtag #SwitchHardflipDay.
