While his recovery remains the top priority, friends and family are also working behind the scenes to help cover the medical expenses that continue to grow.

A message shared by American Nomad Skates gave an update on Bill's condition and explained why there has been some confusion surrounding fundraising efforts over the past few weeks.

According to the statement, the family is still waiting for all of the hospital bills to arrive before they can determine the full amount that will be needed.

Because of that uncertainty, an earlier GoFundMe campaign was taken offline.

The post explained that they felt uncomfortable asking people to donate toward a goal before they actually understood how much the medical costs would be.

Even though some people questioned why the fundraiser disappeared, the family said there was more happening behind the scenes than many people realized.

While the final total has not been determined yet, plans are already being organized to help Bill in other ways.

American Nomad Skates shared that several community fundraisers are being discussed, including one that could take place during the Nomad Cookout in September.

Another idea involves auctioning off some of Bill Danforth's personal boards from riders he collected throughout the years.

Those items could give fans and collectors an opportunity to own a unique piece of skateboarding history while also helping Bill and his family with medical expenses.

Jay Kelly explained that there are several efforts currently being planned, even if they have not been announced publicly yet.

He also shared that Bill has been eager to get his medical bills taken care of as quickly as he can, but those closest to him believe his attention should stay on recovering.

Jay and the rest of Bill's family said they appreciate all of the support and will continue sharing updates as fundraising plans come together.

Right now, the focus remains on helping Bill recover while friends, family, and members of the skateboarding community work together to ease the financial burden that comes with his medical care.
