Embarcadero triple OG Dr. Andrew Huberman went on The Nine Club podcast to discuss CTE, assessing one's supplement needs, exercise & training, stress management, BPC-157, addictive personalities, daily habits, and overall positivity. His advice and recommendations aim to benefit skateboarders.
However, not all skaters are stoked with his podcasting, and he has been receiving a lot of toxic comments, according to Dr. Huberman.
When discussing his experiences, podcast host Chris Roberts raised the topic of dealing with negativity, recounting instances where he was subjected to hurtful remarks about his appearance, such as being likened to a crackhead, as their show gained more traction.
"When you reach a certain point," Roberts said. "I mean, we experienced it here with The Nine Club. It was like in the very beginning, you have those people that latch on, and you're like, they're like your true family and community and there's not a bad comment in the thing.
"Then you reach a little bit more audience and a little bit more and then you kind of hit this threshold where you're like boom we've crossed the line and now we get weirdos coming in and talking weird sh*t and Chris is on crack, he said."
Dr. Huberman agreed that some individuals are genuinely unwell. He expressed confusion about the need to spread hatred towards others instead of focusing on self-improvement, which he has always advocated for.
He also compared the winners and losers in life. Winners tend to shrug off negative situations, have self-awareness, and focus on being positive and moving forward. Meanwhile, losers often dwell on negativity, making toxic comments about the situation to themselves or others.
Despite being called a cheater with multiple ex-girlfriends, Dr. Huberman remained positive and didn't get too aggressive since he thinks like a winner.
He also mentioned that envy isn't beneficial for us and that it's important to focus on improving ourselves without being envious of others.
Dr. Huberman stressed the importance of making a positive impact on your loved ones and those around you. Whether through small gestures or grand actions, what matters most is your happiness and the kindness you show to others.
