As we previously reported, Transkaters launched a GoFundMe to help cover the costs of its retreat and give low and no income trans+ skaters a chance to attend.
Support from the LGBTQIA+ skateboarding community helped make the third Transkaters Retreat happen, giving attendees a weekend to skate, hang out and spend time together without cost being a barrier to taking part.
Canopy Skatepark and Transkaters shared a post celebrating the weekend, saying the third retreat was done and calling it an awesome weekend.
They also thanked everyone who came out and said they were looking forward to seeing everyone again next year.
The fundraiser is about making these gatherings available to people who may not have the money to attend on their own.
Donations help cover retreat costs and give more low and no income skaters an opportunity to take part.
