Skateboarding legend Tony Hawk is giving a big recommendation to his brother Steve Hawk’s new novel, Nearshore.
Birdman shared that Steve was the one who taught him to skate, adding that he was never as confident surfing as his brother.
Now, Steve has turned his attention to fiction with a story Hawk describes as terrifyingly real.
Nearshore explores life in a world shaped by digital chaos and wealthy tech figures. Birdman says the book is so good that even people who do not usually read should give it a shot.
The novel will be on sale August 18, 2026, with signed copies available through Steve Hawk’s website.
