LGBTQIA+ pro skater Lucy Adams is starting a new podcast called “Fortune Favours The Babes,” built around conversations that center people who are often left out of the usual skate conversations.
It brings together voices who are shaping their own space in skating and doing their own thing.
That message sets the tone for what the podcast is about.
It focuses on real experiences from people who are actively involved in skating right now, especially those whose perspectives do not always get as much attention.
Each episode will feature a guest who is living and working in skating in different ways.
The idea is to talk openly about what is happening in the scene, how people move through it, and what it is like creating space when it is not always handed to you.
Lucy explained that the podcast will be about what is actually going on in skate right now, told through underrepresented voices and people who are shaping things from within.
It is not framed around polished narratives or distant observation. It is more about direct conversation with people who are part of it day to day.
She also shared her excitement about launching it, saying she is stoked to get “Fortune Favours The Babes” out into the world.
The name itself reflects the tone of the project, centered on people backing themselves and continuing to show up for what they do, even when they are not always given space easily.
The show will roll out episode by episode, each one bringing a new guest and a different perspective from within skating and the communities around it.
