Things got muddy for pro skater and filmmaker Chris Gregson FloriDEAH Swampfest, and not in the way anyone plans for.
Gregson shared that he was just trying to move through the crowd to find a decent angle to film when everything went sideways.
Out of nowhere, he got knocked off balance and sent straight into the mud with no warning, leaving him no time to react.
One second he was weaving through people doing his job, the next he was face down in the swamp.
The wild part is that while he took the hit, his camera didn’t.
Years of filming in tough situations must have kicked in because somehow he managed to keep it from getting wrecked.
If you’ve ever been to something like Swampfest, you already know how chaotic it can get, with people packed in tight and moving in every direction.
Getting blindsided like that is a different story.
At first, Gregson didn’t even know who shoved him. He only figured it out after seeing footage later on.
That clip made its way back to him, and once he saw it, the whole situation made more sense.
He even asked around for the full video, trying to piece together what actually happened in the moment.
Later on, he posted the clip himself, calling it a once in a lifetime camera save and giving a shoutout to the people who sent it over.
He also tagged RED Digital Cinema, which feels fair considering the camera came out of it untouched.
In the end, it is one of those situations where everything could have gone way worse. Getting dumped into the mud is bad enough, but losing expensive gear on top of that would have made it worse.
Instead, Gregson walked away soaked, probably annoyed, but still holding onto the thing that matters most for his work.
If anything, it shows how unpredictable those crowded sessions can be, even when you are just trying to do your job.
