Joey Brezinski's former boss Jason Guadalajara and the man behind FP Footwear, was among a group of protesters detained during an anti-ICE demonstration outside a Home Depot in Hollywood.
The protest, which unfolded in response to reports of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arresting nearly 20 day laborers and street vendors, was captured on video and later broadcast by Univision Los Angeles.
In the footage, protesters can be seen confronting federal agents and holding up signs, while others chant and demand the release of those being taken into custody.
Guadalajara is shown being led away by officers, surrounded by demonstrators. His presence at the scene caught the attention of his former employee and skateboarder Mikey and many skaters were surprised to see him directly involved in the protest.
The demonstration took place in the parking lot and sidewalks near the Home Depot, where day laborers regularly gather in hopes of finding work.
Witnesses described a tense atmosphere as ICE agents moved in swiftly, while local activists and community members rushed to the site to protest the arrests.
Those familiar with Guadalajara say he has long been vocal about immigrant rights and has supported several causes aimed at protecting vulnerable communities.
As of now, it's unclear what charges, if any, were filed against Guadalajara or the others detained during the protest.
Calls for accountability and community support have been circulating on social media, especially from within the skateboarding scene, which has a long history of solidarity and resistance.
